Prior to joining Radix, Kristin’s financial services background has focused on optimizing client goals by integrating research-based investment strategies within comprehensive financial plan development. Her experience serving women, families, and business executives has taken place within the context of a growing wealth management firm, a service-oriented financial counseling clinic, and through her outside consulting firm, Kristin J. Short Consulting LLC.
Kristin is a published academic researcher and financial educator. Her doctoral work specialized in financial education curriculum development and implementation, which led to academic publications and speaking engagements in the areas of financial education and financial stress. Kristin’s sub-focus in student loan repayment strategies earned recognition through the AFCPE student scholarship award. She was also awarded the Outstanding Graduate Student Award by the University of Georgia Department of Financial Planning, Housing, and Consumer Economics for her cumulative doctoral portfolio.
Kristin’s early professional career included conducting NIH-funded clinical research, followed by managing collaborative partnerships at the University of Georgia as a Senior Coordinator. During this time, she also worked closely with student executive boards as an advisor to develop leadership proficiencies including communication, fiscal management, supervision, and conflict resolution.
Now based in California, Kristin enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her husband and toddler son. Kristin has a passion for values-based financial stewardship and enjoys using her experience in financial planning to engage in volunteer mentorship and counseling, speaking engagements, and small group curriculum development for her local church.
